Kurt Bikkembergs builds on years of experience as a conductor and composer with a particular fondness for contemporary choir music. Being a neoconservative, he recognizes and accepts the attainments and qualities of music and society from the past, without losing sight of the current generation’s achievements. In addition to this, he consciously resists socioeconomic pitfalls, like the unreliability of present-day media. Devoting his life to the service of music and of people who want to learn about music is his primary motive. Bikkembergs likes to work with people who are young at heart, who want to put music first in their lives and during concerts, to let the listener experience beauty. This inevitably means self study, self reflection and self development, both for those in charge and for those who perform.
